TRIPZA sightseeing · Samyan Mitrtown, Bangkok
A van from Samyan Mitrtown, a ride on the local train into Maeklong Railway Market, then a 45-minute longtail through the canals to Damnoen Saduak for an hour on your own. Pick it for the price and the train: you ride through the market instead of just watching the train pass.

TRIPZA runs groups of up to 34 (a small-group option exists) from the sidewalk in front of KFC at Samyan Mitrtown, next to MRT Sam Yan. The guide wears black. The van drives you about 90 minutes out of Bangkok, and then comes the part the other cheap tours skip: a ride on the local train, about an hour through the countryside and into Maeklong Railway Market itself. You get about an hour at the market, a 20-minute drive, and a 45-minute longtail ride along the canals to Damnoen Saduak.
At the floating market you are on your own for about an hour. Lunch is not included, which is fine: the boat noodles and grilled bananas are the reason to go, and they are cheap street food sold by the plate. Bring cash. Besides the English-speaking guide there is an audio guide in 28 languages, played on your own phone via a QR code, so pack headphones.
Now the honest part. The day is 8.5 hours and the floating market gets the last slot of the morning. Add up the listed times on the 6:30 departure and you arrive around 11, when most food boats are leaving. The 10:00 departure reverses the order and reaches the canal around midday, so skip it. Missing the meeting time means no refund.
Outside KFC, on the sidewalk. The guide wears black. Hotel pickup, if you choose it, comes an hour earlier.
Southwest towards Samut Songkhram province.
Board the train and ride it through the countryside and into Maeklong, with the stalls a hand's width from the window.
Walk the tracks and the covered market on foot.
A short drive, then a motor longtail along the canals into the floating market.
Lunch at your own cost, then the van back. The 6:30 tour returns between 13:45 and 14:30.

About 45 minutes by motor longtail along the canals to the floating market, then about an hour of free time there.
The 6:30 and 8:30 tours do the train market first and the floating market second. The 10:00 tour reverses the order. On the listed times the 6:30 is the best of the three for the floating market.
