Bigcountry Experience · Central Bangkok pickup

Only the floating market, privately

A private van takes you straight to Damnoen Saduak: a palm sugar house, a paddle boat through the narrow side canals, then two hours at the market with lunch. Pick it if the canal is the point: no train market, no coach, and the most time at the floating market of any tour here.

Private Damnoen Saduak Paddle Boat Tour

About this experience

This is the only tour on the site without Maeklong Railway Market. Bigcountry sends a private van for your group to central Bangkok (Sathon, Ratchathewi, Khlong Toei, Si Lom or Phra Nakhon). After about 90 minutes you stop for 20 minutes at a coconut plantation where palm sugar is boiled in woks, then board a paddle boat for a 15-minute ride along the narrow side canals into the market.

You then get about two hours at Damnoen Saduak with the guide, lunch included, and about an hour of it to wander on your own. That is the most time at the floating market of any trip we list, and with no train to catch you're back in Bangkok by 1:30 to 2pm.

The price is per person and it's high for one or two travellers, so it works best for a family or a group of four. And read the small print: the tour does not include a longtail ride inside the market. The listing says vendors sell one for 25 to 30 minutes. Pay for it if you want to see the wider canals; agree the price before you step in.

  • The most time at the floating market: about two hours
  • Private van and guide for your group
  • A paddle boat through the narrow side canals

Tips before you book

  • Ask for the earliest pickup. Without a train to wait for, you can be on the canal before the coaches.
  • Carry cash for the optional longtail ride, plus snacks.
  • Bring a hat, sunglasses and an umbrella, as the listing advises: rain or sun, there is no shade on a paddle boat.
  • Before you hire a boat on the spot, read our boat ride guide on boat types and common scams.
